Our success at Journey is measured by life change. We believe God loves you just as you are. However, he loves you too much to allow you to remain the same. A life that encounters Jesus Christ will discover a faith that produces hope because of love. We are motivated to change by grace not guilt.
This is WHY! It's all about Jesus. Jesus loves YOU.
Unfortunately many people have unjustly called themselves Christians. We believe the Bible says that we become "new creations" when we journey with Jesus. This is because Jesus forgives us, sets us free, and allows us to have: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. A new person is better than a nice person. A new person happens because of faith, hope, and love in Jesus Christ.
A Trashcan Can Make a Difference (TCMD)
We live in a marginalized culture; one that operates on the premise of “life, love, and the pursuit of happiness.” Unfortunately, there are thousands of people in our country who struggle to make it through life, feel an absence of the presence of love, and only dream of the prospect of experiencing a true happiness. It is time for us to step into the gap. A Trashcan Can Make a Difference: it sounds ironic doesn’t it? Our hope is that it wouldn’t. On a monthly basis, we at Journey partner with an organization in town that is trying to make a difference in our community. During that month we collect items in our TCMD labeled trash cans and then give those items to that organization so that they can make a difference in the people they see on a regular basis. The world we live in sees a trashcan as a place to throw our waste, our unwanted items. At Journey, we encourage you to see things differently. Our hope is that when you see a trashcan, you wouldn’t think of all
that you can get rid of, but all that you could give to someone in need.
Laundry Love:
Laundry Love is a collaborative initiative of JustOne in partnership with us here at
Journey. The LLP (Laundry Love Project) washes the clothes and bedding of the
individual and/or family unit living at or below the poverty threshold. The typical friend of a LLP is either homeless, mobile houseless, dwells in weekly/monthly rated motels, low-income apartments and/or transitional shelters. This initiative goes beyond just clean clothes, ultimately the LLP is a “health, hygiene, economic, and relational” effort and our hope is that through the LLP, people from any background or lifestyle can experience the love of Christ, and they can see that they have not been forgotten.
